New Year's Reading Resolutions Blog Hop
This
year it's all about the books. Wait! How is that different from any other
year? All right, change that… this hop is all about the books. Past and future.
We’ve all read books that linger with us long after we’ve moved on to the next
book. In my case, it’s the next few dozen books. What can I say? Books are my
greatest weakness. For this blog hop, Rachel asked that we list our top 3
favorite reads from 2013. I read an exorbitant number of books, so this took
some time.
So which books made
my top 3 list? So which books made
my top 3 list?
How did I
manage to go almost 3 years without having ever read these books? I picked up
Blood Avenged (book 1) and all of a sudden I had to read the rest. I spend
weeks in the world of the Sons, hanging on Bissett’s every written word. I
literally finished one book and picked up the next book in the series
immediately after. If you somehow missed these, like I did, I would seriously
suggest picking them up. You will not regret it. However beware, you should be
prepared to spend weeks dedicated to the Sons of Navarus.
Wolf Protector by Milly Taiden
As someone with a quirky,
sometimes sarcastic sense of humor, I have to admit that the interactions
between the team members had me laughing so hard I almost spit soda all over my
e-reader. Even now, months later, their camaraderie reminds me of the friends I
made in college whom I consider family. The playful teasing, harmless flirting
and pranks we’d play on each other. Throw in a murderous sociopath in there and
you have a book that made it to the Amazon bestsellers list for several weeks.
Assassins series by Toni Aleo
As a huge hockey fan, how could I not love this series? Even non hockey fans will fall in love with Aleo's Assassins. Hot hockey gods with hearts of gold. The women in their lives on the other hand I could do without. But that is all relative. The men more than make up for it. If you haven't gotten the chance to read the books in Toni Aleo's Assassin series I would highly recommend it.
So that's it... my top 3 picks for 2013. Being an avid reader, I set a reading goal for myself every year. Sometimes I meet it, sometimes, like this previous year, I fell should because life intrudes. My goal for 2014? I intend to read 200 books. It's lower than I usually set for myself, but then I can always adjust it and add more, right? So what were your favorite reads of 2013?

My goal is tiny by comparison - 40 books. ;) But I'm happy to take my sweet time. I just really hope I get to read more YAY! books this year instead of as many 'meh' ones as I read last year.
ReplyDeleteMy goal is 150 books.... but I also want to finish 4 of my own so I'm not sure if I can do both!
