12 Days of Christmas: Music
Yesterday we shared some of our
favorite holiday movies. Today we figured we'd share some music with
you. To get you in the right mood, let's start off with some Charlie Brown. Let's face it, who doesn't hear this and immediately smile?
Barb will be the first to harass me
about music. She's even been known to cause an earworm or two. You
know how that is... once that song gets stuck in there, it's all you
think about. You're hearing it in your sleep... while you're making
dinner... while you're driving down the road... you can't help but
sing along even without realizing you're doing it. Holiday music does
it to me all the time. Here is my personal favorite Holiday playlist.
And because I love you all, some visuals to help those earworms
along.
Let's face it... I'm a rock chick. My
husband and youngest son play the guitar, my oldest plays the drums,
There's something awesome about hearing this piece with electric
guitars.
3. Christmas Shoes – Newsong
2. Santa Baby – Eartha Kitt
No Christmas can be complete without a
little Santa Baby. Eartha Kitt had such a phenomenal voice! Note, I
chose the original version by Earth Kitt, not the version by
Madonna. There is only one Eartha Kitt.
At this point I'm not sure what came
first, the song or the movie. All I know is that this song does it
to me every time. I hear it and it brings tears to my eyes. I dare
you to listen to it and not be affected.
4. Last Christmas – Wham
Ok, now don't laugh at me, but I love
this song.
5. All I Want for Christmas –
Mariah Carey
Now I may be the strangest person in
the world, but I have to admit I'm not a huge Mariah Carey fan. So
why is she on my playlist? Well, little man heard it on the radio
and he loved it, so he's been going around the house singing it for
the past week. Talk about earworm
6. Domenic the Italian Christmas
Donkey – Lou Monte
I could say this one is on little man
but let's face it, I'm the one who played it for him in the first
place and now Christmas isn't the same without some Domenic. I dare
you not to clap along. All together now... “la la la
lalalalalala, la la la lalalalalala...”
7. Wonderful Christmas Time – Paul McCartney & Wings
This one is totally on my husband. He can never get enough of this song
8. The Grinch
So I'm a kid at heart... sue me. I hear the Grinch and I have to sing a long. You know you do it too.
9. Feliz Navidad - Jose Feliciano
10. Carol of the Bells - Pentatonix
These guys are just simply amazing
As you can see I love music. It's always playing at my house, especially during the holidays. This is just a small bit of my family holiday playlist. I'm curious what Barb's got playing over at her place. Aren't you?
